Daily Word: Share a Cuppa Wisdom. Proverbs 22:18

Terri GillespieDaily Word, Wisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs 2 Comments

For it is delightful if you keep them within you, ready on your lips. Proverbs 22:18

Share a Cuppa Wisdom.   Do you remember the first time someone asked you for advice and you knew the answer without knowing the answer? Know why? What happened was the wisdom and knowledge tucked into your heart and mind rose up, ready to respond. You could “see” the practical application to what was going on today with the words written thousands of years ago.

Then, to step in faith, and love, to speak those words? Oh, what a delight!

Do you feel comfortable speaking wisdom to others? Not reciting verses, but real, practical understanding?

For those of you who regularly post on these blogs, with the insights I’ve read over the years, I suspect you are already doing a great job.

But, of the hundreds of people who read these little devotionals, I wonder. Do you know the pleasure of wisdom entering your heart and knowledge delighting your soul (Proverbs 2:10)?

It’s you, YES, YOU (Proverbs 22:19) that I want to encourage. Step out in faith, my friends, share wisdom as you learn.

Share a cuppa and talk wisdom

Find others who are on the wisdom journey — or aren’t even aware that this adventure exists—seek them out. Invite them for a cup of coffee or tea, and journey together. Review that chapter of the day and the verse or verses that grabbed your heart.

Practice speaking wisdom. Demonstrate understanding. Discuss the layers of insights that can only come with regular, daily, visits to the Proverbs.

What if this cadre of wisdom travelers grew? That each of us spoke real wisdom into this world? That the world would witness more and more people living peaceful, fruitful lives? Lives of integrity, truth, and love for the Creator of the Universe and the Savior of our souls?

I’d say that would be compelling. Probably more effective than complaining and yelling about injustices to us. It would be amazing! A delight to us, and to our Heavenly Father.

May we know the delight of living and speaking GOD’s wisdom, my friends.

DO YOU REMEMBER A TIME WHEN YOU KNEW AN ANSWER YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU KNEW? CAN YOU SHARE?

I’m looking forward to hearing your stories. Thanks for your support by commenting and sharing. God bless you!

Last weekend o spoke to my son for the first time in over two years when he called out of the blue. During our conversation he let me know he was not Christian but considered himself to be a Deist. He then told me what the Bible DOESN’T say in order to make a point. I agreed and then told him what scripture does say about the subject we were discussing. I didn’t quote the scriptures but I told him what they said in context. If he accepted my answer, I don’t know but he said he was going to do some investigation in the Bible himself and I hope he does. He said he doesn’t want me pushing my religion on him and I assured him I wouldn’t, but I also said I wouldn’t be able to keep quiet about Jesus and what He has done for me. I just can’t.

Oh Tamra. I know what this means to you and your sharing it will be an encouragement to so many others. Sharing GOD’s word “in context” to life is always a good thing. It’s real. It’s experiential. It’s aptly spoken. It’s truth.

I’m praying that there will be more of these conversations. Questions and answers. Vulnerability and boldness. This is not about memorized words, it’s about the words written in our hearts. Words that changed us.

Thank you for sharing this, Tamra.
