Daily Word: Who Do We Follow? Proverbs 2:19

Terri GillespieDaily Word, Wisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs 2 Comments

None who go to her return, nor reach the paths of life. Proverbs 2:19, TLV

Who Do We Follow?   “. . . NOR REACH THE PATHS OF LIFE.”  There are a few passages in Scripture that are scary. This is one of them.

Imagine walking this life, facing all the challenges, accomplishing great feats, and never reaching the eternal, path of life. Does that concern you?

For those who walk a journey aside from GOD they expend a lifetime of effort only to never reach the beautiful end. Someone can walk parallel with GOD’s path — go to church, call themselves a Christian — but will not reach the same destination. Why?

It’s about who we follow. Do we follow political figures? Philosophers? Friends? What we observe? Our own reasoning?

When we make the decision to follow the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and His Messiah to the world, Jesus, we step onto His path. We follow the path out of love and gratitude toward our Heavenly Father and His Son for the sacrifices and grace they have so freely given. Following means making the effort to follow the Holy Spirit to know Him better through reading, studying, and living His Word.

Even when—not if—we stumble from time to time, He promises that He will keep us from slipping off the path.

Keeping our soul in life, He has not let our foot slip. Psalm 66:9, TLV

May we follow our Father on the path of life, my friends.

Do you feel confident you’re on the right path? Do you “see” the Father leading you?
