“…  and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah—” 2 Corinthians 10:5, TLV

Capture the Thought?    A few years ago, I received a revelation about this verse. It’s simple really. The premise is: I can’t hide my thoughts from God. Here’s the thing. Even though we may know that Scriptural truth, it is a whole other matter to acknowledge the thought that exalts itself against God, much less “show” it to Jesus. Taking a thought captive and surrendering it to the Messiah is a purposeful act.

How?

Here’s what happened the first time. When the ugly thought arose in me, I pictured myself bringing it to the Messiah — and this thought was so nasty I was ashamed to have thought it. Once I imagined myself laying it before Him, I “watched” as the thought melted away, kind of like the Wicked Witch of the West when Dorothy threw water on her. Then the thought was gone.

Our thoughts that exalt themselves above the knowledge of GOD can be as simple as pride or offense. I think those thoughts are even more difficult to surrender to Yeshua.

Sometimes it takes a couple of times these days, but when that ugly thing is gone, it is gone.

Thing More About It

How do you take an ugly thought captive? Or a prideful thought that exalts itself against God? Please, share.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I love your comments and appreciate your shares. Until tomorrow, GOD bless and please, pray for Israel’s peace and protection!
