Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, whoever takes care of his master will be honored. Proverbs 27:18, TLV
Do You Tend for Someone? What a great proverb! This is one of those verses that is ripe (pun intended) with symbolism. We know that the fig tree is a representation of Israel, so that could be a lovely topic — tending to Israel. We could discuss who owns the tree. But I went to a different place …
Tending the stewardship for someone else. Back in the day, a person could be a slave or servant and be expected to help manage their master’s estate or work in the fields. From menial to specialized tasks, there was much they were responsible for.
Today, as employees we are most likely expected to perform our jobs with the same expectations.
“Will My Dream Ever Happen, LORD?”
In many cases, we’re building and stewarding the dreams and visions of someone else, all the while our own dreams may languish, unattended. That can be discouraging.
But our Heavenly Father sees. He knows. He hasn’t forgotten us. We can look to Him to help us sustain hope. He will strengthen us as we continue to work with integrity and the right attitude.
In due season, He will open the doors to our dreams so that we may enter in. Because He’s just that kind of Father.
Think More About It
Are you stewards of others’ dreams or visions? How do you work hard and keep your dreams?
Until tomorrow, may we eat the fruit of this season and be satisfied, my friends.
Our Father has a vision for Israel, doesn’t He. Praying for Israel is a lot like tending to His prophecy-to-be-fulfilled. So, we continue to pray. God bless you!
