Daily Word: The Perfect Balance . . . Proverbs 19:12

A king’s wrath is like a roaring lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass. Proverbs 19:12, TLV

The Perfect Balance…     Sounds so poetic, doesn’t it? “. . . dew on the grass.” But, for most of us in North America, dew can create fungus and mold on plants. Not so poetic, right?

Yet, in the Middle East, and other semi-arid climates, the early morning dew hours are the maximum growth time for plants. Those droplets of dew are vital to photosynthesis.

The delicate dew hugs the blades to open them to the morning’s cooler temperatures and sunshine. In those cooler temperatures the moisture and nourishing sunshine are gently absorbed.

If the dew remained once the temperature rises, the sun would evaporate the moisture too quickly and burn the delicate leaves and blades. The same applies to the early morning temperatures — too hot and the plants burn.

By the way: that’s why the optimal time to water our lawns, gardens, and flowers is in the early morning hours!

Helpful Tip

Learning how to wisely navigate in the world of leaders can grant us favor. Receiving favor from someone in leadership can go a long way toward our growth. Because we are trustworthy confidants and diligent in our jobs to those making amazing changes for good, we can be part of growing GOD’s Kingdom.

But I think sometimes if we stay too long in their limelight and favor, if we seek to take what is not ours to receive, it can scorch our motivations. We’re not anointed to carry their mantle. God gave us our dew and sunshine in perfect balance for how He created us. When we live in that balance, our motivations will remain pure, and favor can abound.

Think More About It

Have you been drawn to the leadership world and stayed too long is the “sunshine”? How did that affect your faith and wisdom journey?

Until tomorrow, may we seek GOD’s favor for a perfect balance of dew and sunshine, my friends.

Thank you for your prayers. If you’re so led, please pray for the families of the returned hostages and those families still waiting for their loved ones. God bless you!
