A slacker’s craving will kill him, because his hands refuse to work. All day long he craves greedily, yet the righteous one gives and does not hold back. Proverbs 21:25-26, TLV
The Wisdom of Work. The wisdom of work — of earning money — is to live within our means, prudently plan for the future, and be able to give back to the LORD and others. There’s something simple about that. Honorable.
Knowing the value of our effort and our commitment to our family, faith family, and those who need help from time to time, keep things in perspective. Knowing what we have, even our jobs, is a gift from our Heavenly Father, that keeps us humble and grateful.
If we get lost in those unfulfilled cravings, it causes us to devalue the treasures before us. Worry sets in when we think we must strive for what we believe we need. Resentment creeps into our hearts and blinds us to the blessings all around us. Not a good thing.
If we remember what Jesus said about worrying and fretting — that we gain nothing — we lose our peace.
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For the pagans eagerly pursue all these things; yet your Father in heaven knows that you need all these.” Matthew 6:31-32, TLV
But, when we trust, and don’t hold back, when we live wisely and give wisely, we can keep greed and worry at bay. And that is a good thing.
Think More About It

How have you been blessed by the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Yeshua is our greatest blessing and joy.
However, if you are a farmer that uses drip irrigation, then you have been blessed by Abraham’s seed. If you’ve used a defibrillator or had a pacemaker, you have been blessed by Abraham’s seed.
The Jewish people have blessed the nations with innovations and inventions and development in all areas of life: medical, technological, agricultural, and more. The wisdom of work is alive and thriving despite the persecution of those who benefit from these wonders.
Today, what if we thanked the LORD and His people for these blessings? Yes? God bless you.
