Whoever digs a pit will fall in it, and whoever rolls a stone—it will come back upon him. Proverbs 26:27, TLV

What’s Your Story?     We all have stories — testimonies — of God’s protection. Events where we can point to His divine intervention.

I wonder, how many pits were dug for us that we never fell into? How many stones were diverted from our path we were never aware of?

As children of the Most High, we are targets for the enemy of our soul. But we don’t have to fear. Whatever attempts against us our Heavenly Father will either deflect or use for His glory and our growth.

A Miracle

A few years ago, I was at a Cracker Barrel in my favorite section, the clearance area. While perusing the clothing, a woman and I struck up a conversation. At first it was about styles and such, then abruptly she shared that just two weeks ago she was on her death bed. My immediate response was to praise the Lord and call it a miracle.

She seemed surprised that I used the word miracle and that I had attributed it to God. Looking at me with moist eyes, she acknowledged it was a miracle, but hadn’t seemed to connect it to God.

Unrecognized Miracles

That made me wonder, how often do we survive the pits and boulders and forget to attribute it to our heavenly Father? The car that pulls out in front of us and impossibly, we stop in time. The child who tumbles down the stairs and is unhurt. Once the adrenaline subsides, do we take a moment to connect God to the miracle and thank Him?

I like that idea. Thank him for the near misses as well as the miracles. It keeps us grateful. And that’s a good thing.

So, my friends, just remember whoever plots against us, plots against our Daddy. And when He intervenes on our behalf, remember to praise Him. He deserves it.

Think More About It

What’s your story? I’d love for you to share a story of God’s rescue from the “pits and stones” around you.

Until tomorrow, may we give Him the honor due, my friends.

Remember my friends from Israel that visited a few weeks ago? My friend “C” had back surgery—on October 6th. The surgeon inadvertently nicked part of her spine and the result—according to the surgeon—was total paralysis from the neck down. Permanently.

As a result, “C”’s daughter, son-in-law, and their grandchildren canceled their camping trip and hike. Because of their cancelation, the other couples also canceled their trip.

October 7th “C”’s husband, “A” heard bombs exploding and a mass exodus of medical staff and patients to the hospital’s bomb shelter. “A” asked the doctors if they could help move his wife, and they informed him “C” couldn’t be moved. So “A” covered the room’s window with a mattress and stayed with his wife and prayed.

When “C” came to, the family asked her to move her fingers. She moved her fingers. They asked her if she could move her feet. She moved her feet. Today, my friend can walk—sometimes with a cane—and get around freely.

Miracle, right?

There’s more. Had their daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and the other families not canceled their trip, they most likely would have been killed. That location was reported to have a devasting attacked and in all likelihood, they would have been victims of terrorism.

Please continue to pray for the “M” family as they minister to the poor and actively share the Good News to Israelis—Jew and Arab. God bless you and Shabbat Shalom!
