Avoid it—do not travel on it—turn away from it and pass by. Proverbs 4:15, TLV
Are Shortcuts Worth It? Have you ever taken a shortcut that ended up taking more time than if you’d stuck with the original way? I don’t know about you, but I sure have taken shortcuts that ended up taking longer than had I just followed the way. And, it has been too many times to count, unfortunately.
Shortcuts can involve almost every activity: driving, sewing, assembling something, cooking, or really important things like relationships.
When You Know the Way
Shortcuts are effective only when we truly know the way — when we’ve traveled or performed it safely. Because if the territory is unfamiliar, we can land in places we don’t want to be.
When we keep our eyes on the path our Heavenly Father has for us — even when it seems to take longer than we want — we avoid the unnecessary pitfalls. Aren’t there enough challenges in our life? Let’s bypass the avoidable ones.
Think More About It
Do you recall any mishaps when taking a “shortcut”? What did you learn?
Until tomorrow, may we travel the path GOD has chosen for us, my friends.
Show me Your ways, ADONAI [LORD]. Teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:4, TLV
Ah, what a great petition to present to the LORD. For Israel and for us. Let us ask Him to teach us the way, truth, and life with each path before us. God bless you!
