For surely there is a future, and your hope will never be cut off. Proverbs 23:18, TLV
As We Gather… Next week, many families will gather around a Thanksgiving table filled with the bounty of love, gratitude, and delicious food. Yet, there are homes filled with a bounty of strife, longing, and lack.
Our hope is not measured in what we have or the people surrounding us, it resides in the Creator of the Universe who holds our future in His capable hands. Still, family and friends are important. A positive environment will also feed our soul.
Today is today. Our hope in a better future is a good thing, for we have a good Father. But it’s important to remember we take ownership of our own actions. To continue to strive to live His Word is part of our hope for a better future. And to continue to foster a loving, hopeful environment for family, friends and, the occasional surprise guests.
In our hoping and striving, remember to give thanks. Praise Him no matter the lack and strife, or bounty and peace. For He has given us an eternal future with Him. And that, too, is a good thing.
Think More About It
What is your plan for a loving, positive environment for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration?
Until tomorrow, may our future and hope be beautiful, my friends.
Praying for Israel
O come, let us sing for joy to ADONAI [the LORD].
Let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving.
Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs. Psalm 95:1-2, TLV
Halleluyah! Praise the LORD! Let’s get a head start to worship and praise the LORD. As my former rabbi would say—in his decidedly Philly accent—“Let’s have an a-tti-tude of gra-tti-tude!” As we pray on behalf of Israel and our loved ones, let’s rejoice! Amen? Shabbat Shalom and God bless you!
