For the One working in you is God—both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13, TLV
Always Working! Shabbat Shalom! Sometimes, we just don’t want to do the right thing, do we? The thing that our Heavenly Father has told us to do?
And this is no random, “Do it because I said so” kind of work. It is a “I am trusting you to do the right thing because I believe in you and know you can do it.”
What I love about today’s verse is that Paul tells the believers in Philippi, that the part of GOD — the Holy Spirit — that He placed inside us, is busy working in us. The Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit) is working 24/7 to help us to accept our Father’s will as our own. Because it is important that we do, especially these days.
Therefore, my loved ones, just as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence—work out your salvation with fear and trembling. (vs. 12, TLV)
Fear and trembling. That’s not just important, it is serious.
The Holy Spirit will let us know when we’re off center. For me, when I’m off-center, I feel an angst and an obsession to get my own way — even when I think it is God’s will. When that happens, I know I must step back because I’m on dangerous ground and it’s time to check with the Holy Spirit and reset my course. Just taking that pause helps us to listen.
Think More About It
How about you? How do you know when you are off course?
May we work well and on-course, my friends.
Praying for Israel—Prayer Prompt
For with You I rush on a troop,
with my God I scale a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect.
The word of ADONAI [the LORD] is pure.
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God, except ADONAI?
And who is a Rock, except our God? Psalm 18:30-32, TLV
Rush on a troop. Scale a wall. A shield. And a Rock. Those are the petitions we lay before You on behalf of Israel, Abba. Only through You—only through you. Shabbat Shalom and God bless!
