Daily Word: Yo! Preach it, Peter! 2 Peter 1:3

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3, TLV

To coin an elegant Jersey sentiment, “Yo! Preach it Peter!”      In this chapter, it is no holds barred for our outspoken brother. After Yeshua’s ascension, Peter tempered his reactive behavior for the most part. But, in this chapter, it has returned in a refined boldness. Why?

I think it right to stir you up with a reminder, as long as I remain alive in this “tent” of a body—knowing that my death* is soon, as our Lord Yeshua the Messiah has made clear to me. (vss. 13-14) [Emphasis Mine]

Peter is stirring things up as a reminder to those walking this faith journey, that there are certain foundational truths. He reigns back on diplomacy and speaks clearly what is right and what is wrong. I really encourage reading this chapter because it is a fresh presentation of what we should be focusing on in this season on earth.

Laying Aside Our Tent

Whether we know our day of “laying aside our ‘tent’” or not, our focus should not change, really. Because our Father and His Son’s divine power have given us everything — that’s everything — we need to live a life filled with the knowledge and knowhow to advance the Kingdom and be what He has called us to be.

Yo! Pretty bold stuff.

Think More About It

What goes through your mind when you think about “laying aside your tent”?

May we preach it in the voice God has given us, my friends.

Pray for Israel—Prayer Prompt

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky shows His handiwork.
Day to day they speak,
night to night they reveal knowledge.
There is no speech, no words,
where their voice goes unheard.
Their voice has gone out to all the earth
and their words to the end of the world.
In the heavens He pitched a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:2-5, TLV

Abba, even Your creations praise You. Their voices are unique to those who will listen with their hearts. Father, we pray that Israel’s voice will not go unheard. As they worship You, trust in You, and seek You their voice will go out to all the earth. May we add our voices in agreement. In Yeshua’s Name.

God bless you!
