“A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to sleep,”
then your poverty comes tramping in,
and your need like an armed soldier. Proverbs 24:33-34, TLV
Do You Steward Time? Shabbat Shalom! Our Creator knew our bodies needed rest and sleep. Every seven days He’s given us a Sabbath rest. Every evening, time to sleep.
When we’re sleep deprived, our bodies don’t function as they should. And our minds must work harder to process.
But, when we sleep too much, it is a sign that something is off and we need to investigate possible challenges. These areas may be areas we can’t control like illness, injury, grief, and depression. It is important not to let this go unattended — to seek professionals. And once we’ve done that, then actually follow their instructions.
However, one reason we can control is laziness.
Laziness is a choice. Which is good news, right? It means we can choose not to be lazy. We can choose to be good stewards of one of the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has given us, time.
