Lending to God? How amazing is this! I love the passages that give us insights into how we can bless the Creator of the Universe — our Father. Other than, “please listen” verses, there isn’t much to give us a glimpse into our Abba’s heart.
Worship and praise are blessings to Him, of course. But today’s proverb is one of my favorites. “Lending to the Lord” — how wondrous!
Clearly, GOD doesn’t need our resources or our finances because, well, He owns all the beasts in the forest and cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). He created the universe. Everything is His. How is it then, He considers our acts of kindness and benevolence as a loan to Him?
Are We on Loan From Him?
Could it be we are on loan from Him? We’re His hands and heart to those He loves?
To be His emissary to others in need is an honor. Something to be treasured. I can say, after everything He has done for me, there is no repayment large enough.
Whether we give a gift to a charity or work in a soup
kitchen, or give our time to help a neighbor, we can be the sweet fragrance or delicious aroma of Yeshua — Jesus — in another’s life (2 Corinthians 2:15).
Demonstrating kindness from a grateful and loving heart shines brightly in a dark world. If we’ve learned anything positive from our time of isolation from Covid and now with the unsettling events in and around Israel, it is how much we can help others. Even in small ways. Imagine if every child of GOD did this — the light would be blinding.
