What’s your story?
TODAY’S PROVERB: Whoever digs a pit will fall in it, and whoever rolls a stone—it will come back upon him. Proverbs 26:27
We probably all have stories — testimonies — of God’s protection. Events where we can point to His divine intervention.
I wonder, how many pits were dug for us that we never fell into? How many stones were diverted from our path we were never aware of?
As children of the Most High, we are targets for the enemy of our soul. But, we don’t have to fear. Whatever attempts against us our Heavenly Father will either deflect or use for His glory and our growth.
Recently, I was at a Cracker Barrel in my favorite section, the clearance rack. While perusing the clothing, a woman and I struck up a conversation. At first it was about styles and such, then abruptly she shared that two weeks before she was on her death bed. My immediate response was to praise the Lord and call it a miracle.
She seemed surprised that I used the word miracle and that I had attributed it to God. Looking at me with moist eyes, she acknowledged it was a miracle, but hadn’t seemed to connect it to God.
That made me wonder, how often do we survive the pits and boulders and forget to attribute it to our heavenly Father? The car that pulls out in front of us and somehow we stop in time. The child who tumbles down the stairs and somehow is unhurt. Once the adrenaline subsides, do we take a moment to connect God to the miracle and thank Him?
I like that idea. Thank him for the near misses as well as the miracles. It keeps us grateful. And that’s a good thing.
So, my friends, just remember whoever plots against us, plots against our Daddy. And when He intervenes on our behalf, remember to praise Him. He deserves it.
What’s your story? I’d love for you to share a story of God’s rescue from the “pits and stones” around you.
May we give Him the honor due, my friends.
