How is your roar?
TODAY’S PROVERB: The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
Fear cripples. More importantly, fear is not our inheritance as children of the Most High.
For most of my life, fear ruled me. I feared being hurt, making mistakes, being wrong, dying. I was afraid of dark hallways, under my bed, closet, the unknown — I even feared fear.
Today, I can still struggle with certain fears, but I try to abide in God’s promises, then I do the best that I can to move forward. I do it scared, but trusting the Lord. Kinda like a young lion cub, I practice being bold until I am.
There are certain passages I run to when I feel fear’s grip. My favorites:
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity [fear] but of power and love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and the one who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
What are your “run to” Bible verses when you’re afraid, my friends? How do you practice your “roar?”
May we run to the source of our strength, my friends.
