Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 9:1, 13-14

Terri GillespieWisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs

Whose call do we answer?

Today’s Proverb: Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars . . .

The foolish woman is rowdy. She is naïve and knows nothing. So she sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the heights of the city . . . Proverbs 9:1, 13-14

Believe it or not, wisdom and folly can present similar appearances. But for those who care to know the difference, for those who truly seek wisdom, the differences are clear.

So many voices claiming to be wisdom, claiming to have understanding of the times, in reality are nothing but confusing and misdirect people away from our Heavenly Father.

Wisdom has a firm foundation on which to build. Wisdom builds with beauty, integrity, LOOK UPand an artistry of knowledge that can only come from the Creator of the Universe.

Folly robs us of integrity, has the appearance of understanding, but has no substance on which to build.

The fruits of wisdom are Biblical, wholesome, and practical for every day life. Folly’s fruit are not wholesome and give us unrealistic expectations.

Wisdom calms chaos and feeds the soul. Folly promotes chaos and feeds unrest.

Before us each day there are two “calls” — the call of wisdom or folly. May we choose to answer the call of the wise, my friends.
