Why should we know our weaknesses?
TODAY’S PROVERB: Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say. Proverbs 5:7, TLV
What are the things that turn us away from the Words of our Heavenly Father? Why is that important? To know the temptations we are more prone to? Because, if we are aware we can do something about it.
If we know the temptations that so easily trip us up (Hebrews 12:1), then we can better hear the Holy Spirit’s call and conviction. Knowing our weaknesses makes us humble and humility is what turns us in gratitude to our Father.
When we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s tug on our conscience, we will recognize it in other areas of our life. Other weakness — yes — but also, the greater things of following God’s will and purpose for us.
If we know how to overcome, how to get back on the path we may have strayed from, then we will not turn aside from His wise words. We’ll crave them. Park ourselves somewhere and wait for them.
Even when we miss the mark and tumble off the path, we get back up. Allow the LORD to dust us off, and begin again.
Sin and forgiveness and falling and getting back up and losing the pearl of great price in the couch cushions but then finding it again, and again, and again? Those are the stumbling steps to becoming Real, the only script that’s really worth following in this world or the one that’s coming.

Since it is important, I will say it again: It’s not about perfection. Perfection paralyzes, following our Father’s direction moves us toward Him. It’s all about placing one foot in front of the other and knowing all this effort is worth it.
May we listen, my friends.
