Today’s Blog: Where are We Rooted?
TODAY’S PROVERB: The wicked covets the loot of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes. Proverbs 12:12, TLV
Happy Resurrection Day! As you remember all that our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) did for us, may you celebrate in praise, honor, and joy! He is risen!
Today’s proverb presents the dichotomy of coveting and flourishing. Are you flourishing?
Many of us may feel overwhelmed with the restrictions around us. Some may even be struggling financially. But our Heavenly Father says we can still flourish — it’s part of who we are as His child.
Coveting is like greed. It is driven by fear. Fear of lack. And, especially now, fear of loneliness.
What is the opposite of coveting? Gratitude.
Gratitude feeds shalom — peace. We can have peace even in lack. Peace even when others take advantage of us. Because that sure peace comes from the knowledge that we are never alone.
Rejoice in the Lord always—again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything—but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the shalom of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua.
PHILIPPIANS 4: 4-7, TLV
When we feel the pull of fear, take it to the LORD prayer and thanksgiving. He will carry us back to the place of shalom. Because it is our heritage and promise.
May we stand rooted in shalom, my friends.
