Today’s Blog: A Valuable Lesson
TODAY’S PROVERB: Do not slander a servant to his master, or he will curse you, and you pay for it. Proverbs 30:10, TLV
Our generation has learned a valuable lesson during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Those souls working in the service industries and food and medical sectors are to be appreciated. Not two months ago, nurses, medical technicians, the produce guy, cashiers, first responders, burger makers were typically the dumping ground for people’s frustrations. Today, if we’re wise, we should think of them as heroes.
But, really, it shouldn’t have taken a pandemic to teach us this. The very basics of our faith as followers of Jesus is the Golden Rule.
So in all things, do to others what you would want them to do to you—for this is the Torah and the Prophets.
JESUS, MATTHEW 7:12, TLV
Second, remember that we all have the same “Master.” You know, the Creator of the Universe — our Father. He loves us all, but ultimately we are held accountable for our misdeeds and sins. And frankly, the last thing I want to do is have my Father watch me misbehave.
One day — hopefully soon — the pandemic will be over. We’ll go back to our busy lives and have easy access to our family and friends. Let’s not take anything for granted again. Maybe we can have more patience when our food is late, or the server forgets our second cup of coffee. Or when we have to wait an hour for our doctor.
And, remember all those heroes who worked the front lines at risk of their and their family’s wellbeing? How about we find ways to bless them. At the very least, thank them. Pray for them. Let them know their sacrifice was appreciated.
Perhaps we can begin today by thanking them through this blog. Thank you for your service and sacrifice — may GOD bless and protect and reward you!
May we be gracious and grateful, my friends.
