Daily Touch: Especially those . . .

Terri GillespieDaily Word

Therefore, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good toward all—especially those who belong to the household of faith. Galatians 6:10, TLV

“Especially.” That’s an important word in this verse. First, we are to do good toward al — wisely, when the opportunity arises. But we are to especially do good for those who are our brothers and sisters in Messiah. Seems like a no-brainer, doesn’t it? I’ve seen evidence to the contrary.

It should be noted that some don’t do good toward the “all,” they only give to their congregation or their favorite charity — they forget the all.

Then there are those who only give to the more popular charities and completely forget the “neighbor” in need sitting next to them during services, or who lives down the street.

This is where discernment is so important. How does the LORD want us to give? To whom?

Also, giving doesn’t have to involve money. It can be time, resources, or a pot of soup.

During this season that depicts a jolly world, with long lists of wants, let us not forget those who need.

How do you do good toward all, especially those of the faith?
