“Amen, amen I tell you, whoever hears My word and trusts the One who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed over from death into life.” John 5:24, TLV
This is interesting. Who does Jesus tell His followers — us — to trust for eternal life? The One who sent Him. Who sent Yeshua? His Father.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16, TLV
Do we trust that God — our Father, His Father — sent Jesus to redeem us? By redeeming us from judgment, do we believe we now are children of Yeshua’s Father?
Are we truly listening to what Jesus is saying? Yeshua’s sacrifice on our behalf is more than “fire and damnation” insurance. It is so we can now have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe — our Father. Together with Jesus, we can call out, “Abba!” A term of love, endearment, trust — Daddy!
Abba, we are grateful for Your love demonstrated so profoundly in sending Your Son so we could be Your kids . You saw us before time and without our doing anything to earn it, wanted us.
That’s a message worth listening to.
