LOVE . . . it bears all things,
it believes all things,
it hopes all things,
it endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7, TLV
Love works hard — love is purposeful. And despite what all the storybooks might say, love is a choice.
Today a good portion of the world celebrates mothers. There are all types of mothers. Those who gave birth to us and those who chose each day to mother us. And if we’re especially blessed, we have both.
For many, today is very difficult. There are women who are childless and this and other holidays and celebrations are so painful.
In your celebrations today, remember those strong women of God who influenced you by choice. Who loved you purposefully in the good and bad. The amazing women — young and old — who demonstrated their love by seeing you as God sees you and not letting go of that vision.
Also, remember the motherless. Because, it doesn’t matter how old we are, we all need a mom who loves us unconditionally.
And, if the loss hurts for you today, reach out to someone like you and help ease their pain with a loving act of kindness. It helps to ease our own pain.
Just know that we have a Father who loves us like no other. He will comfort us, if we allow Him.
Thank you to all the women who have impacted my life . Happy Mother’s Day!
