Daily Word: I think there might be a theme

“Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. The branch cannot itself produce fruit, unless it abides on the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4, TLV

There’s that word again. Abide. In this verse Jesus is exhorting us to remain in Him through His example and direct access to His Father. The grapevine branch cannot support itself. Here’s where the keeper or gardener is so important. In order for the branch to produce healthy fruit, the gardener must trellis the branches.

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He trims so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.”

YESHUA, JOHN 15:1-3, TLV

The Master Gardener — the Creator of the Universe — wants to tend to each branch. If the branch doesn’t produce fruit, then, snip, snip, off it goes. Sometimes the branch is pruned to produce more fruit.

I found this video done by a winery. What I love about these gentlemen is that the explanations are about the process are with no intent to create parallels with Scripture and our walk. It’s simply the raw process where we can see the analogy Jesus gave ourselves.
