Train up a child in the way he should go,
when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6, TLV

“You don’t have to say it, mom. I hear your voice in my head everyday.”

When our daughter spoke those words to me so many years ago, I knew this verse was true.

The words we sow into our children — good and bad — are seeds. It is why praying for our children is so important. Love and prayer and humility cover a lot of our dysfunction.

Adult children still need affection, affirmation, and time, as well as respect as adults. Sometimes, those 30, 40, 50, and 60 year olds still need their parents’ unconditional love.

As we approach Mother’s Day, let’s remember what was sown into us by our mothers and grandmothers and those women who have been like mothers to us.

Please share one thing your mother trained you up for, and you have not departed from.

Happy Mother’s Day!
