Daily Word: What is our climb?

A rock climber? Really? The percentage of rock climbers in the world is less than 1%, so why did I choose that graphic? Because we all have a precipice before us — a challenge — that needs climbing. Whether cancer treatment, parenting, taking care of our parents, restoring relationships and marriages, finding a job, or any situation we’re struggling with, we have a climb before us.

Today’s verse is the culmination of Paul’s exhortation to the believers of Philippi:

I know what it is to live with humble means, and I know what it is to live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment—both to be filled and to go hungry, to have abundance and to suffer need. 

Philippians 4:12, TLV

Whatever circumstances we’re in presently — whatever rock before us — we can climb in contentment and strength, because Jesus is our strength.
