Fight the good fight of faith! Take hold of the eternal life—you were called to it, and you made the good confession for it in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12, TLV
Wow. I love that: Take hold of the eternal life. Something profound in Paul’s instructions to his spiritual son.
If we think about what concerned us when we were six years old, as opposed to today, then we understand just a tiny bit of the eternal perspective. What controls our thoughts and emotions today may not be relevant tomorrow.
Perhaps taking hold of the eternal life is to keep the holy perspective. The things that are of God.
So when concerns control our thoughts and feelings, go back to the eternal. To what we made good confession. That God loved us so much, He sent His Son to die for us.
That’s a good place to begin. Knowing we have His love makes fighting the good fight easier. Yes?
