” … and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah—” 2 Corinthians 10:5, TLV
Have you ever done this? Taken a thought captive and surrendered it to the Messiah? It’s really fascinating. When some ugly thought arises in me, I picture myself bringing it to the Messiah — even if the thought is really ugly and I am ashamed to have thought it. Once I lay it before Him, I watch the thought melt away, kind of like the Wicked Witch of the West when Dorothy throws water on her. Then the thought is gone.
Sometimes it takes a couple of times, but when that ugly thing is gone, it is gone.
How do you take an ugly thought captive? Please, share.
