Continual dripping on a day of steady rain and a contentious wife are alike—hiding her is like hiding the wind or grasping oil with the right hand. Proverbs 27:15-16, TLV
Are You Continually “Dripping”? A contentious person is relentless in pointing out others’ faults. And when they have exhausted these revelations, they can fabricate more.
Like a designer purse, a contentious person carries strife and discouragement. They wear division like a diamond ring. Reckless words that hurt come through lips that should heal. A contentious person only sees what can be criticized. They don’t see the whole person.

The really sad thing is, they think they are useful and serve humanity and GOD with their verbal assaults. What these poor souls don’t realize is they are the very opposite of a messenger of truth. They are, in fact, an accuser of the brethren.
My sisters, if we are even remotely close to being contentious, get on our knees and seek deliverance. If we’ve left a long line of hurt people, ask the LORD for forgiveness and discernment how to root it out of us. Then, seek forgiveness and restoration with those we’ve hurt.
Until we seek Him about these things, don’t say another word about someone else. Even if we think we’re correct. Just say nothing.
REMEMBER:
Even a fool, who keeps quiet, is considered wise,
discerning, if he seals his lips. Proverbs 17:28, TLV
Think More About It
Have we been victims of a contentious person? And/or have we been a perpetrator? What has been your journey to overcome?
Until tomorrow, may our hearts be open to conviction and our words to others a healing balm, my friends.
Our soul waits for ADONAI [the LORD]—
He is our help and our shield.
Our heart rejoices in Him,
because we trusted in His holy Name.
Let Your lovingkindness, ADONAI,
be upon us, as we have waited for You. Psalm 33:20-22, TLV
Let us agree together that Israel and we will trust in the LORD’s holy Name. May we all continue to let His lovingkindness be upon us. God bless you and Shabbat Shalom!
