May your fountain be blessed and may you delight in the wife of your youth. Proverbs 5:18, TLV

Commitment. Contentment.     Sometimes I get discouraged these days by the lack of commitment to marriage and family by followers of Jesus. Don’t you? Aside from extenuating circumstances such as abuse and infidelity, it seems everywhere we look, the covenant of marriage is treated merely as a piece of paper.

It’s hard work staying in covenant. Every day we seek to delight our spouse. Every day we work to keep communication clear and hopeful. Every day we seek out moments of joy and laughter. Every day we implement the wisdom lessons we learn.

We do it not because we’re able, but because we’re committed.

If we have made a mistake and stepped away from that covenant, know that our Heavenly Father can walk us through restoration or the next step in figuring out what to do. It begins with repentance and a willingness to work. Really work.

He forgives. He can restore. He can help us.

Think More About It

How does commitment affect your contentment?

Until tomorrow, may we delight in our spouse and family and be blessed, my friends.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers for Israel. God bless you!
