Daily Word: Do U Have Beautiful Feet? Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah. Romans 10:17, TLV

Do You Have Beautiful Feet?   This chapter in Romans seems out of place. It addresses Jewish people in Israel and the diaspora (those outside Israel) that still have not been redeemed by our Heavenly Father’s Son — our Messiah and Savior. But, Paul is writing this letter to the Romans. Why?

Actually Romans chapters 9-11 play a significant role in understanding unity — the unity between Jewish and non-Jewish people. One of the greatest issues among believers at that time. However, it is the unity our Messiah prayed for:

“I pray not on behalf of these only, but also for those who believe in Me through their message, that they all may be one. Just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, so also may they be one in Us, so the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:20-21, TLV [emphasis mine]

Yeshua prayed for us — for those who believe in Him through His followers’ message — written and verbally spoken. Those who hear that message, like Paul is presenting to the Romans, Paul passionately speaks this to his own Jewish people. The message first given to the Jewish people.

Paul will then go on in Romans 11 to remind those “wild olive branches–the non-Jews” who are grafted into olive tree will grow with those “natural olive branches–the Jewish people” grafted back onto their own tree (Romans 11:16-24).

Which brings us back to today’s verse. It’s all about getting the word out about The Word (John 1:1) to everyone. It’s about the Messiah being the end-goal of the Torah (the Law) (Romans 10:4). How He came not to put aside the Law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). How will others know about this Good News? Someone has to share it. Speak it. Live it.

As the Creator of the Universe’s redeemed children, we are called to be ready when the time comes to share this Good News. Are we ready? Get those feet moving!
