The slacker plunges his hand in the dish—he is too tired to bring it back to his mouth. Proverbs 26:15, TLV

Don’t Give Up!     Believe it or not, there are people who choose to restrain themselves from work — from life. Something in their past triggers a predilection toward laziness and apathy—or fear. This actually creates a wall that they use to keep from fully engaging with people. Because of this wall, the need to avoid working — on anything — becomes their primary focus.

These poor souls live on the surface, and for whatever reason, seldom dive deeper. If they work — when they work — their jobs don’t challenge their full potential. Their friendships are neglected and strained. This is because they need to numb themselves from conflict.

Their world is small.

The energy and effort it takes to remain in this state is exhausting. Ironically, it would take less energy to move outside it. They just don’t know how.

When they shake off the bonds of laziness, their world grows. This can happen when they look up and see that their Creator has a role for them.

Resonating?

If the previous paragraphs resonate with you, then know you’re not alone. We all can have seasons of struggle in this area, due to circumstances beyond our control. Especially at this season where so much unrest is going on around us.

Just know, there is more for us. There is hope. In Jesus [Yeshua], we can be set free. With the community of saints and counseling, we can work through the root of laziness and apathy so that we can enjoy the life we were created to have.

Don’t give up.

Think More About It

Have you struggled—or are you struggling—with a “laziness” you can’t seem to work through? Many times, that lethargy is a symptom of another problem such as depression. Are you ready to work through this challenge? How will you seek help?

Until tomorrow, may the hope for a new, better life be real to us, my friends.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers for Israel. God bless you!
