No weapon formed against you will prosper
and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of ADONAI’s servants—
their vindication is from Me.”
It is a declaration of ADONAI.  Isaiah 54:17, TLV

Don’t Mess with GOD’s Kids.  Has anyone ever said bad things about someone you care about? Probably. Were they true? Or partially true? More than likely. But because we love that person, and we truly know them, we’re going to come to their defense. I may not get along with all of my family, but don’t let a stranger say anything bad about them. That gets me riled.

Isaiah’s prophecies tend to be rough where it concerns the Jewish people — his family — but every chapter or so, ADONAI speaks through Isaiah and basically says, “Yeah, I know my children have messed up, but they are for Me to deal with in My own way. But, don’t you diss My kids because they are Mine and I will protect the covenant I have with them. Forever.”

Behold, anyone fiercely attacking is not from Me.
Whoever stirs up strife with you will fall because of you.
Behold, I created the smith
who blows the fire of coals
and produces a weapon for its work,
and I created the destroyer to ruin. (vss. 15-16, TLV)

GOD makes the weapons — and the tools — for His work. But not just anyone can use His or their own weapons to attack us.  Our Heavenly Father takes care of our discipline, and He is the only one who can take revenge.

As we discussed before, we’re not fighting people, were fighting the maker of weapons from the pit of hell. Weapons meant to destroy us, wielded in the hands of those who know not what they do, or who is commanding them.

This is why passages like today’s verse from Isaiah are so comforting. No weapon forged against us will ultimately destroy us.  God has our back.
