Daily Word: Every Thought? 2 Corinthians 10:5

“…and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah—” 2 Corinthians 10:5, TLV

Every Thought?       Shabbat Shalom!     A few years ago, I received a revelation related to this verse. It’s simple really. I can’t hide my thoughts from God. Taa-Daa! Here’s the thing. Even though we may know that Scriptural truth, it is a whole other matter to acknowledge that thought then show it to Jesus. Taking a thought captive and surrendering it to the Messiah is a purposeful act.

Here’s what happened the first time. When the ugly thought arose in me, I pictured myself bringing it to the Messiah — and it was a really nasty thought that I was ashamed to have thought it. Once I laid it before Him, I “watched” as the thought melted away, kind of like the Wicked Witch of the West when Dorothy throws water on her. Then the thought was gone.

Today, I don’t remember that thought at all.

Sometimes it takes a couple of times these days, but when that ugly thing is gone, it is gone.

Think More About It

How do you take an ugly thought captive? Please, share.

May we take those captive thoughts straight to Yeshua, my friends.

Pray for Israel—Prayer Prompts

In God—I keep praising His word—
in God I trust, I will not fear.
What can mere flesh do to me?

All day they twist my words.
All their thoughts are against me for evil.
They stir up strife; they lie hidden.
They mark my steps, eager to take my soul. Psalm 56:5-7, TLV

We praise You, ADONAI! For You are LORD! Your Name is above all names. We worship You and want to abide in that worship because that is a safe and sacred place. Every day, Father, evil speaks against Your people. Evil twists our words and injects thoughts into the hearts of people that stir up strife and hatred and violence. Father, we trust in You. Let their words and deeds be thwarted, and bring the hostages home, in Yeshua’s Name.

Shabbat shalom and God bless you.
