ADONAI [the LORD] is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in Him I take refuge, my shield, my horn of salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:3, TLV
Follow the Thread. The horn of salvation is symbolic of strength and God’s majesty. The symbolism begins as early as Exodus 27:2, when God commanded the building of the Tabernacle.
“Make horns on the four corners—of one piece. Overlay it with bronze.”
When Jacob gives his final blessing over his 12 sons, Joseph’s blessing includes the majestic, kingly horn in Deuteronomy 33:17a.
“The firstborn ox—majesty is his.
His horns are the horns of the wild ox.”
David understood that His Savior was His King. One day his descendant would be the Prince of Peace, the Son of that King our Savior, Jesus.
“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of His servant David …” Luke 1:69, TLV.
I love these seemingly insignificant little threads that God weaves into the tapestry of history and what will be the future. When we pay attention to these colorful threads, we are further reminded of the omniscience of our Heavenly Father. He has seen it all.
He has left His mark for us everywhere. We just have to follow the thread.
All my hope is in Yeshua/Jesus. His humble obedience and always yielded will to Father God gave Him authority over all things created in Heaven and Earth so every knee bows to Him. As awesome as that is, it wasn’t love or obedience that saves me. It is His Blood Sacrifice. (1 Cor 15: 1-4)
