Giving vs. Shortages. Remember the shortages of toilet paper, paper towels, masks, and hand sanitizer? How many of us grabbed what we could out of fear, rather than necessity? Giving when it is uncomfortable for us and our families isn’t easy to do, is it? But is it the right thing to do?
There are already talks of another round of shortages by grocery retailers with a new rise of COVID — as in some states in the southeast. The grocery stores feel they are more prepared, but there may still be some items that would be difficult to supply, such as produce.
We as followers of Jesus — as children of the Creator of the Universe — can approach these dilemmas with a different perspective. In wisdom, we can bless others. If we buy two giant toilet papers packages, give one to a neighbor who has difficulty getting out.
When we are in a state of compassion and generosity, fear is shoved to the sidelines.
No doubt we’re all praying there won’t be more episodes of rude and hoarding behaviors — 
virus or not — but there might be. Don’t let it feed fear within us. And the best way I know to do that, is to follow GOD’s instructions to give to others. That will ultimately satisfy our souls.
