Daily Word: Have You Gained Understanding?

Terri GillespieDaily Word, Wisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs Leave a Comment

Happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding. Proverbs 3:13, TLV

Have You Gained Understanding?     Wisdom without understanding is like buying a model kit without assembling it. A model in a box, or scattered over a tabletop is not success. As we read the directions, we know it’s possible — we can build it — but we still have to follow the instructions. Assemble the pieces. Glue them together. Understanding is wisdom with feet.

Without wisdom — without God’s instructions — we can’t build the model. But all the instructions in the world won’t assemble the kit on its own. Because, without building it there’s no model. It takes understanding to walk out wisdom.

It takes understanding to walk out wisdom.

Without understanding, there are no mistakes that we learn from. There are no victories we can rejoice over.

Reading our Heavenly Father’s directions, stepping out in faith to follow them is living a life we are meant to live. And that’s a good thing.

Think More About It

How do you understand understanding? Would you share an example to help us understand?

Until tomorrow, may we live a life of wisdom and understanding, my friends.

Let my cry come to You, ADONAI [LORD].
Grant me understanding by Your word.
Let my supplication come before You.
Deliver me, according to Your promise. Proverbs 119:169-170, TLV

Question: Have you struggled with understanding the prolonged and brutal battles of this war in Israel? I think we all have. Let’s take time today to gain our understanding by His word and that our LOD will deliver Israel and the innocent civilians who are victims of this war. God bless you and Shabbat Shalom!
