Happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding. Proverbs 3:13, TLV
Have You Gained Understanding? Wisdom without understanding is like buying a kit without assembling it. A model that remains in its box, or scattered over a tabletop is not a success. As we read the directions, we know it’s possible — we can build it — but we still must follow the instructions. Assemble the pieces. Glue them together. Be sure we’re not missing pieces.
Understanding is wisdom with hands and feet.
Following the Instructions
Without wisdom — without God’s instructions — we can’t build the “model.” But all the instructions in the world won’t assemble the kit on its own. Because, without using our hands to build it, there’s no model.
It takes understanding to work out wisdom.
Without understanding, there are no mistakes that we learn from. There are no victories we can rejoice over.
Reading our Heavenly Father’s directions, stepping out in faith to follow them is living a life we are meant to live. And that’s a good thing.
Think More About It
Do you follow the instructions before attempting to walk out wisdom?
Until tomorrow, may we live a life of wisdom and understanding, my friends.
Do not be anxious about anything—but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the shalom of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua. Philippians 4:6-7, TLV
As much as we seek divine understanding, there will still always be things we don’t understand. Things our finite mind can’t process no matter how brilliant we are. And that’s okay. Our mind can only process a tiny sliver of the eternal. And that’s okay. But we can guard our hearts. Abide in gratitude and communicate with our Father.
Today, let’s agree together to abide in His peace and in gratitude as we lift our petitions on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people. Yes? God bless you!
