So you will walk in the way of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous. Proverbs 2:20, TLV
Imagine the Moment. Guess what I’m thinking about? Well, that’s not fair to ask so here goes. I’m thinking about that day. The day I look my Messiah in the eyes — after a long embrace, of course. Seeing Yeshua — Jesus — and then Him taking me by the hand and showing me to our Father. Knowing He’s excited to see me, too.
Then, I hope to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant . . .” (Matthew 25:21; Luke 19:17).
Knowing that every sacrifice, every wise, but difficult decision, every tear, every prayer will have been worth it to see Jesus. To see Him nod and smile. Doing all those things didn’t earn me entrance into an eternity with my Heavenly Father, Yeshua did that.
You see, my wise decisions and keeping to the path of righteousness not only honors Him, but they also reinforce my gratitude for all He did for me — for us. I want my life to demonstrate His love.
To the best of my ability — flawed with my sinful nature and frailty — I am living a redeemed life covered by His blood. I want to take those “talents” He gave me and make the most of them with wisdom and obedience.
Imagining that moment motivates me to continue walking, climbing, pressing on that narrow, sometimes lonely path of righteousness.
May we walk in the way of good men and women, and keep to the path of righteousness, my friends.
