“Amen, amen I tell you, whoever hears My word and trusts the One who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed over from death into life.” John 5:24, TLV
It’s About His Dad — Our Dad. This verse is interesting. Who does Jesus tell His followers — that includes us — to trust for eternal life? The One who sent Him. Who sent Yeshua? His Father.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16, TLV
Do we trust that God — our Father, His Father — sent Jesus to redeem us? Or, subconsciously, do we think Jesus took on this mission by Himself? That subtle but important difference is necessary to our faith journey. Why?
Because of that redemption from judgment, we now are children of Yeshua’s Father. And Yeshua wants us to know His Abba.
Are we truly listening to what Jesus is saying? Yeshua’s sacrifice on our behalf is more than “fire and damnation” insurance. His death and resurrection was so we can have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe — our Father. Together with Jesus, we can call out, “Abba!” A term of love, endearment, trust — Daddy (Galatians 4:6)!
That’s a difference worth knowing.
