Hear, my son [daughter], your father’s instruction and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Proverbs 1:8, TLV
Time to Roll Back the Scroll to Proverbs One. What new insights will our Heavenly Father have for us in September? How will He deepen our understanding of the ancient wisdom. What reminders from the past will He show us — how we can live out that wisdom? All the things that build us into the daughters and sons He created us to be. Are you ready?
In today’s proverb King Solomon’s son is reminded to listen to instructions and teachings from his parents. Many Psalms were King David’s instructions and teachings to his son, Solomon.
The fear of ADONAI [the LORD] is the beginning of wisdom.
All who follow His precepts have good understanding.
His praise endures forever! Psalms 111:10, TLV
How blessed are those who have parents who raised them in wisdom and faith. How blessed are parents who have children who walk in God’s grace and knowledge.
Wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment are legacies more valuable than silver and gold, or precious jewels.
What If …
What if we were not blessed with parents who raised us in wisdom or faith? Or we have no children walking in grace or knowledge?
We are not lost, for we have our Heavenly Father who is the fount of all wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment. We are His children who can walk in grace and knowledge. He will teach us, each day, every day, if we chose to listen.
The wonder of it all is that it doesn’t matter our age when we begin. He will teach us. We simply need to sit still and pay attention to what He teaches us in His word. Each day we can choose to read that chapter of Proverbs. We can choose Who we will follow. And, we can choose Who we will serve.
Today is the beginning of new wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, my friends. Are you ready?
Think More About It
How has walking wisdom changed your life?
Until tomorrow, may we walk out our faith in wisdom.
The upright see it and are glad,
and all iniquity shuts its mouth.
Who is wise?
Let him observe these things,
and consider ADONAI’s [the LORD’s] lovingkindness. Psalm 107:42-43, TLV
“… observe these things …” These things are captured in sixty-six books, nearly 800K words, with real-life applications and vivid—sometimes painful—examples. What does this have to do with Israel? The Jewish people were commissioned by God as keepers of His word. Shouldn’t that mean that every Christian, every believer be grateful? For that reason alone, we should be in unity to pray for the deliverance of His people. Shall we agree together? God bless you!
