Rich and poor have this in common—ADONAI [the LORD] is the Maker of them all. Proverbs 22:2, TLV
Just a Few Reminders… God is the great equalizer in this world. When we get prideful or discouraged about who we think we are, it’s helpful to remember who He is. Just a few reminders:
- He’s the Maker of heaven and earth and all that dwells within them. (Genesis 1)
- He’s the Creator of our bodies and souls — He actually blew life into us. (Genesis 2)
Last time I checked, rich or poor, neither of us can create anything from nothing. We’re dust, and without the Hand or Breath of our Creator, we wouldn’t be here.
And yet, oh how our Heavenly Father — the Creator of the Universe — loves us. Just a few reminders:
- He knows the number of hairs on our head (Matthew 10:30).
- He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to redeem us (John 3:16).
Isn’t it good to remember the ABCs (or Aleph, Bet, Gimels) of who we are and who He is? It grounds us and reminds us that we who follow the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and His Messiah and Son, Jesus has this in common — rich or poor. And that’s a good thing. I know I sure need to be reminded from time to time.
Think More About It
What are some reminders that you need from time to time?
Until tomorrow, may we remember who we are and who He is, my friends.
Praying for Israel
For You have created my conscience.
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You, for I am awesomely, wonderfully made!
Wonderful are Your works—
and my soul knows that very well.
My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Psalm 139:13-15, TLV
*sigh* A sweet reminder for us all. And for those who are burdened with grief and fear, let’s pray this for them. Shabbat shalom and God bless.
