Daily Word: Mobile Connections, Psalm 27:4

One thing have I asked of ADONAI [the LORD],
that will I seek:
to dwell in the House of ADONAI
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of ADONAI,
and to meditate in His Temple. Psalm 27:4, TLV

Mobile Connections. When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He spoke of a new “House” to worship His Father (John 4:21). Truly, in this “House” we would dwell forever. Yeshua told her that one day, very soon, true worshippers would worship the Father in spirit and truth. These were/are the worshippers He seeks (John 4:23).

When ADONAI instructed the children of Israel to build the Tabernacle in the desert, it was intended to be mobile, to be temporary (Exodus 26). Kind of like us.

King David wanted to build a more permanent and grand structure, but God said no because He was a warrior (2 Samuel 7). God allowed King Solomon to build their grand and permanent Temple (1 Kings 7), but really it wasn’t any more permanent than the Tabernacle. It was destroyed by the Babylonians. Then the second temple was destroyed by the Romans.

Kind of like us, right. Our ultimate place of worship on earth will be our temporary “House” where we worship in spirit and truth.

When The Word became flesh, He “tabernacled” among us:

And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory, the glory of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14, TLV) (EMPHASIS MINE)

Corporate worship will always be important. There is power in unity (John 17:22-23). But ultimately, our worship begins at “home.” And like the Tabernacle of old, we can take it anywhere.
