“. . . with complete humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love . . .” Ephesians 4:2, TLV
No Excuses. Do we allow disagreements and fear as excuses to not put up with one another in love? Unfortunately, for many of us, being right or protecting ourselves alienates those around us.
That was yesterday . . .
That was yesterday, today is today. How can we do things differently? We can begin by recognizing our responsibility to forgive and repent for any unloving behaviors. And remember the value of unity in light of Yeshua’s prayer in John 17.
“I pray not on behalf of these only, but also for those who believe in Me through their message, that they all may be one. Just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, so also may they be one in Us, so the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory that You have given to Me I have given to them, that they may be one just as We are one— I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them as You loved Me.” John 17:20-23, TLV
Returning to the attitude of humility and gentleness is not a sign of weakness or giving up Biblical values. Seeking restoration is an act of courage. Seeking reconciliation with our brothers and sisters of Messiah takes wisdom and discernment. It is an act of obedience. And from that Yeshua will be recognized for who He is.
Being passionate about Biblical truths and values isn’t a bad thing. 
As long as it is built on the foundation of wisdom, humility, gentleness, and God’s love.
Let’s move forward with this understanding and not use excuses to be harsh or not hear what others are saying. Because we will need each other in ways we can’t imagine.
