Daily Word: Seeking Higher Things, Colossians 3:1

Therefore, if you have been raised up with Messiah, keep seeking the things above—where Messiah is, sitting at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1, TLV

Seeking Higher Things.      Did you catch that? Jesus sits at the right hand of His Father. There He intercedes — He prays on our behalf to His Father.

Therefore He is also able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, always living to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7: 25, TLV

So, what can we seek? We are able to seek the most incredible of desires — the desires of GOD. Things of a higher perspective — with a higher calling — to do the will of GOD.

We seek to know our Heavenly Father like His Son knows Him. And we seek to follow Yeshua [Jesus] and learn His ways.

Learning to love unconditionally.

To forgive as our Father has forgiven us.

What is important to the Father was important to His Son, so it is important to us, as His redeemed children.

How do we know what to seek, learn, and do?

We read and learn and live the Bible. It is as simple and as difficult as that.

Today, we can begin with reading His love letters to us — the Bible. Learn from the Creator of the Universe how to live in this world through His Scriptures. A great way to begin? Read a chapter of Proverbs for wisdom, a chapter of Psalms to connect deeper with our Dad, find an Old Testament reading schedule for foundational insights, then pick anywhere else like Matthew to learn of GOD’s love for the world and how to live in it.

Let’s seek the “higher” things today by loving, forgiving, hoping, laughing with those who laugh, comforting those who mourn, and sharing the greatest love in all the universe.

Think More About It

How do you plan to seek, learn, and do this year?

Until tomorrow, may we rest in the knowledge that our Savior intercedes on our behalf.

Praying for Israel

… Yes, and I will keep rejoicing, for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your intercession and the help of the Ruach [Spirit] of Messiah Yeshua. Philippians 1:18b-19, TLV

Lord willing the captives in Gaza will begin to return home. Their release is only the beginning of their freedom—their deliverance. Now comes the healing. Speak this prayer over the captives and their families, my friends. Amen and amen. God bless you.
