Daily Word: Sweet Talk, Proverbs 16:24

Pleasant words are honeycomb—sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24, TLV

Sweet Talk.       Shabbat Shalom!  If you have followed my Proverbs blogs over the years you’ve learned as I learned, about the medicinal properties of honey.

That our Heavenly Father would allow something so simple and sweet to be good for us is a bit of the Garden of Eden in my estimation.

Environment

The environment plays an important role in the life of a bee. It is thought that technology as well as pollution has affected the poor little things.

How similar that little bee is to us. How easily distracted we are by the sound bytes and waves of voices. They can pull us from our purpose and destination.

But unlike the tiny bee, we have a Protector and Counselor. When we seek the Lord, He will guide and guard us through life’s challenges until we reach home. We can speak sweet words even when encountered with bitterness and anger. Sometimes people will respond positively, but just as often they won’t.

Remember we carry the word of eternal life (John 6:68) thanks to our Savior’s redemption. Words, like honey, can heal.

Let’s not let the world keep us from sweet and medicinal words that can make a difference in others’ lives.

Praying for Israel

I do not turn away from Your rulings,
for You Yourself have taught me.
How sweet is Your word to my taste—
yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
From Your precepts I get discernment,
therefore I hate every false way. Psalm 119:102-104, TLV

Once the chaos settles and Israel begins their new normal, the important lessons from God’s word are just as important. I’m praying this with hope, that soon His word will be sweeter than honey to God’s people. I suppose that applies to all of us. Yes? God bless and Shabbat shalom!
