“Worthy are You, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
For You created all things,
and because of Your will
they existed and were created!”
Revelation 4:11, TLV
The Art of Praise. Anyone an artist? A painter, sculptor, lyricist, writer? The context of today’s verse expresses beautiful images of the throne room of heaven. There are strange and wonderful depictions — at least in John’s understanding — of who is present. But the most important part of this chapter? Worship! Praise! Lifting GOD above all.
Imagine this scene:
The four living creatures, each having six wings,
were full of eyes all around and within.
They do not rest day or night, chanting,
“Kadosh, kadosh, kadosh
ADONAI Elohei-Tzva’ot,
asher haya v’hoveh v’yavo!
[Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God of Hosts,
who was and who is
and who is to come!]” (vs. 8, TLV)
Immediately I was in the Ruach [Spirit]; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One seated on the throne. And the One who was seated was like jasper and carnelian in appearance, and a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. (vss. 2-3, TLV)
Really, that’s what it is all about. Awe! Praise! Worship! Whether
we worship in a grand cathedral or a hut, the point is we worship and give honor to our Heavenly Father, and His Son because of His loving sacrifice, and well, because it pleases the Father. Allow the Holy Spirit to take us to new heights of intimacy with Him.
Simple. Deep. Wonderful.
A good reminder, yes?

What does worship look like for you?
May we try new ways to worship, my friends.
Pray for Israel—Prayer Prompt
Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before ADONAI our Maker.
For He is our God,
and we are the people of His pasture,
the flock of His hand. Psalm 95:6-7a, TLV
I was reading about Jehosaphat again this morning. How he had the worshippers go before Israel’s army. Because he sought the LORD before attempting the battle, the king listened to His instructions and followed them—even when the instructions seemed strange. So today let’s worship and pray for those instructions to be clear to the powers-to-be. Who knows what God has planned. Amen? God bless you.
