We all like sheep have gone astray.
Each of us turned to his own way.
So ADONAI [the LORD] has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6, TLV
The Shepherd’s Sacrifice. Chag Pesach Semeach—Happy Passover. We were the cause of the Shepherd’s sacrifice. And our Heavenly Father knew from the beginning that this would be necessary. His Son knew from the beginning of time that He would need to do it.
The fact that this prophecy was written at least 800 years before it was fulfilled should give us more comfort. That no matter how insane the world may seem, God always sticks to His plan. He is able to do that because He has already seen the end of all things.
He wins. And we get to be with Him forever.
Shabbat shalom! Chag Pesach Sameach!
Think More About It
Sometimes it’s just good to meditate on the reality of God’s plan. What shines in your heart?
May we abide in gratitude for the Shepherd’s sacrifice.
Praying for Israel
ADONAI is their strength—
a stronghold of salvation for His anointed.
Save Your people, bless Your inheritance,
shepherd them and carry them forever. Psalm 28:8-9, TLV
Back in 2002, Israel suffered a horrendous terror attack during Passover. On the first night of the Biblical holiday, the dining room of the Park Hotel in the coastal city of Netanya was packed with guests who had come to take part in the holiday’s festive Seder meal.
As the meal was getting underway, a Hamas terrorist from the nearby Palestinian city of Tulkarm brushed past hotel security and detonated his suicide belt in the midst of the bustling celebration.
Thirty people between the ages of 20 and 90 were killed, and 140 others were wounded. At that time it was considered one of the worst acts of terrorism Israel had seen—that changed October 7th.
What is noteworthy was that the international community was appalled and sympathetic. Things have changed, haven’t they.
The Jewish community worldwide, but especially in Israel, is especially vulnerable during the Biblical festivals. As we pray today, let’s pray for a stronghold of salvation for His people at this time. Amen? Chag Pesach Semeach. God bless you.
