The father of a righteous one rejoices greatly.
Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. Proverbs 23:24, TLV
The Wisdom Seeds & Fruit. How many have a wise child? Not everyone, unfortunately. Hubby and I didn’t understand the wisdom thing ourselves — even as believers — until our daughter was on her own. That meant the poor thing went through many of the same hard lessons we did. Even harder in some respects.
Once we figured it out — reading a chapter of Proverbs each day, and living it as best we could — when she came to us for advice we had something wise to share. Because, like us she got tired of making the same type of mistakes over and over again.
A wise child begins with us
The better option, dear parents or future parents of wee ones, a wise child begins with us. Children are smart. They observe our lives. How we respond to trials. The types of decisions we make. When we keep sowing seeds of wisdom in our own lives each day, those young eyes will see the fruit.
At least that’s what we’ve observed. How about you?
