Daily Word: Turn on the Light! Galatians 5:16

But I say, walk by the Ruach [Spirit], and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16, TLV

Turn on the Light!        Ever walk into a darkened room to get something, thinking “I don’t need to turn on the light. What I need is right on the dresser or bed or nightstand.”? Except we reach for that something only to stub our toe and as we feel our way across the surface, we knock items onto the floor? LOL!

Well, that was pretty specific, but you get the idea. (Yes, I’ve done that more times than I care to admit.)

All the while the light switch was right there on the wall!

Today’s verse is kind of like that. When the Holy Spirit lights our way, we can see the obstacles that we tend to stumble over. We don’t assume we can overcome our desires on our own. Logically, we can’t.

For the flesh sets its desire against the Ruach, but the Ruach sets its desire against the flesh—for these are in opposition to one another, so that you cannot do what you want.   (vs.17, TLV)

You see, by nature our flesh wants to stay in the dark. If we don’t see the problems, we tend to think we don’t have any. The Holy Spirit spotlights those issues — whether we want to see them or not — and remains to help us overcome them.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Psalm 119:105, TLV

Reading and studying the word is only 1/3 of a redeemed life. There’s that important 2/3 that walks out what we invest in reading and studying. It’s not an abundant life without allowing the Holy Spirit to show us the stumbling blocks so that we can overcome them. And then, allow Him to reveal the truly blessed life our Heaven Father has given us.

That’s worth turning on the Light, yes?

Think More About It

How do you shed light on your life?

May we seek to switch on the Light in all things, my friends.

Praying for Israel—Prayer Prompts

Many are asking, “Who will show us some good?”
May the light of Your face shine upon us, ADONAI [LORD]!
You have put joy in my heart—
more joy than when their grain and new wine overflow. Psalm 4:7-8, TLV

Praying today that the Light of our Father’s face would shine upon Israel. That they would choose joy in the midst of trials. For we know that the shalom of God that surpasses our understanding comes from our focus on Yeshua. Amen? God bless you.
