Yeshua said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35, TLV
What are We Drawn To? Sometimes, we have this hunger and thirst inside us — not an empty stomach or a parched throat — but deep in our soul. No food, no libation fills it, no matter how much we try.
Yeshua replied to her, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty. The water that I give him will become a fountain of water within him, springing up to eternal life!” John 4:13-14, TLV
Imagine struggling with our “vessel,” dragging ourselves to what we think is the source of our relief — food, alcohol, drugs, sex, pornography, constant entertainment — and there sits our Messiah. He says what we’re reaching for will not truly satisfy us. What we really need, only He can provide.
Will we reach for Him and what He has to offer? Or reach around Him to what we want?
What if we paused and looked away from what we usually run to, and instead looked toward Him. Sit and listen. Take His hand and walk away with Him.
It seems too simple and yet, too difficult. It is both, but it is worth it! It is worth it!
We can step away from the ugliness of spiritual deprivation to a sweet, fulfilling beginning. He’s calling us.
